A better History Recording Outlook for those without Outlook
Reliable email History recording is a must for most Act! users, which is why Outlook integration add-ons like Act4outlook have become popular. However, with the emergence of web-based email services like GSuite & Hotmail, the number of Act! users forsaking Outlook is growing, and we wanted to provide them with a centralized solution for email History recording that was easy to deploy & maintain and, most importantly, worked.
Enter Link2mail, the latest product in our Linktivity Suite, brought to you by the makers of Act4outlook.
Link2mail provides an online solution configured within Linktivity and then writes the email History to Act! from a single Windows utility installed on your network. The connections to the database are the Act! Web API or K-API, and wholly configured online. All the global settings, users, and user preferences are configured within Link2mail, and then synced to the Windows utility. The advantage of this setup is simple. All the accounts are managed in one place without ever having to go to the Windows server to configure anything. Just set it and forget it.
Moreover, after the Windows utility is deployed once, there is nothing more to install anywhere. No plugins, no having to touch every user's computer, nothing. The first Linktivity user sets up their account, the global preferences, and then the rest of the users. There is nothing to teach your users because everything works in the background.

Link2mail is setup online, and the Windows utility gets installed once in the office, that's it. No plugins to install on any user's computer, or anything for them to learn. They just email as they normally do, and Link2mail takes care of the rest.
Life on the cloud is sunny again! Link2mail offers reliable History recording for Act! for Web users on PC's or Macs, with or without Outlook. Previously Mac users were stuck because all the plugins were made for Windows, but Link2mail does use plugins. You can even safely email from any mobile device and Link2mail will record it to Act!
Larger deployments can be configured quickly in one centralized place without touching anyone's computer or training anyone on the addon's use. In fact, after the Windows utility is installed, you never need to configured it again as updates are synced from Linktivity. You can also setup default preferences, and then al subsequent users can be configured similarily.
Get your choice of automatically attaching incoming or outgoing emails or both, and the History types of each. You can also configure the way Link2mail records Histories to act, like subject, subject & body, subject, email, body & attachment. You can create blacklists and exclusion fields, as well as whether you wish to include users in email recordings.
There is nothing worse than relying on a plugin that starts working and then later stops after an Office or anti-virus update. Or having to overcome network security to install the plugin in the first place. With Link2mail there is nothing to install, so no load behaviours or security rules to contend with.
Outlook integration is great if you have Outlook but if you use web-based emails like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, or some other similar service, you didn't have many options before Link2mail.
With Link2mail you can safely disable all other Outlook integration services, and use Act! on as many computers as you wish, in Windows or Web, and Link2mail will only record the email History once to the database.
With Link2mail, managing user licensing has never been easier. If one user leaves, simply transfer their subscription to a new user, or hold it for later. Adding a user is just as easy as you can apply a subscription very easily from the online Link2mail user dashboard.
